SUPPORT OUR TROOPS

Junior Troop 25419,  5th Grade, Near South Side

We are based at the National Teachers Academy on the Near South Side of Chicago. We’ve been together since Kindergarten. Our biggest challenge this year is that we can’t meet in person, or have cookie booths in person, or even see our friends. Our goal is to earn enough money to pay for a camping trip once we are able to go!

Brownie Troop 25232, Pritzker Elementary

We are a first year brownie troop that LOVEs cookies! Covid has prohibted our booth sales, but we still did a great job selling individually. We love doing arts and crafts, earning badges and being outdoors.

Daisy Troop 56001 in Darien/Downers Grove IL

Our troop plans to donate a portion of cookie proceeds to Cradles to Crayons Chicago, so children are provided the school supplies they need. Our challenge has been that we did not sell door to door this year, and did online sales exclusively. Our troop would love our flavor and charitable goals to be featured on your web site or social media pages. Our goal is to sell 450 boxes of cookies this year.

Online via this link -all proceeds will be shared with the troop as a whole

Troop 25641 4th Grade Ravenswood Elementary

Our 4th grade troop has focused on being Good Community Members, by completing acts of kindness in our neighborhood. The girls did a trash-pick up at Horner Park, and they created valentines for a local Love Fridge. Our biggest challenge is not being able to have booth sales due to weather and COVID-19, but we are learning about selling cookies virtually this year.

Daisies Troop #25978, (First Graders at Ravenswood Elementary)

Cookie Goals – We have been raising money to do a special activity at the end of the year. The girls get to come up with the ideas for the activity and practice for their democracy badge by voting on what that special activity will be. I’m secretly hoping they opt for a good ole fashioned campout.

Challenges – We have experienced a huge decrease in sales this year as more people are working from home, not having offices to go to or people to influence to buy, plus we aren’t able to host a booth, but we were creative and came up with a delivery system so that we can offer contactless drop-off for people in a way that’s safe, while still getting to experience the cookie selling aspects of money management, salesmanship, leadership, stepping outside your comfort zone, etc.

We also LOVE to get involved in community efforts (age appropriate) so if anyone has volunteer opportunities and would like to connect, we are always looking for ways to get involved in helping our community and making the world a better place.

Troop 23134/SU279

Our troop has been together since Kindergarten. We are in 8th grade now and ready to go our separate ways for high school. This is our last hurrah with cookie sales. We have always sold thousands of cookies as a troop and this year we are in the hundreds. Without door to door sales and booths we will be far below our goals this year. Our goal is 75 boxes per girl. We have already surpassed that. We are currently at around 125 per girl. It has been tough to sell our usual way through booths and in person selling. We are learning how to market ourselves digitally. They are 6th graders who have been together since kindergarten.

Troop 26026, Brownies, Chicago – Lakeview Neighborhood

We’re a Brownie troop from the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. With the money raised from selling cookies, we want to do community service projects to help our neighborhood. The biggest challenge with selling cookies during Covid is to keep everyone safe when we sell outside in front of businesses. But we are ready and can’t wait to see our customers in person (from a safe distance, of course) when the weather warms up more. It would great to share our troop cookie sales link and share the location/date/time for our outdoor booth sales.

Troop 45990 (Second Grade)

We are a Brownie Troop with 15 second graders. When we were Daisies we met twice a month and went on fun outings. This year, we have mostly been meeting virtually. We have not been able to participate in booth sales or do door to door sales during Covid.

Troop 47206 (Kindergarten)

We are a Daisy Troop with 17 kindergardeners. We have been meeting virtually most of the year and have not been able to participate in booth sales during Covid.

Troop 42002, Ambassadors, St Mary’s Riverside

Our troop is currently focusing on our individual Gold projects. We would like to use the proceeds from our cookie sales toward the cost associated with our Gold projects. Our biggest cookie selling challenges were not being able to get together for booth sales and not have the personal contact with people we normally sell to. Once we have our Gold projects finalized it would be great if you could promote them.

Troop 55843 Brownie,Wheaton IL Indiana

We are a small Brownie troop that has been meeting on Zoom. We sold more cookies this year than last despite Covid! For us, if we got proceeds from Black Dog, we would be able to donate the proceeds to people in need. Covid has hurt some people so much, and we would love to help!

Troop 45275, Cadette

Our troop loves to help our community through service projects and volunteering and selling cookies helps us do this. We enjoy learning new skills, the outdoors, helping others, becoming girl leaders. It’s been hard not being able to sell cookies in person and at Booth sites like usual together.

Troop 45741, Juniors, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Literary and Fine Arts School, Evanston, IL

Our troop plans to use some of our cookie money to do a community service project on climate change and animal rights, and some support an outdoor adventure that teaches us a new outdoor skill. We hope to sell 2,000 boxes this year to support these efforts. Our biggest challenge for selling cookies has been not being able to talk with our customers. We miss talking to people to share our goals and hear about their stories from when they were scouts. The Junior Troop is at Kings Arts, a public arts-centered school where students learn how to live the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Troop #20221, seniors, Chicago NW Side

Our troop is tiny but mighty–most of our girls are in high school (or 8th grade)–an age when most young girls start pursuing other interests and move away from scouting. However, this group of girls, which has been together for about 6 years, had a strong charitable and social justice streak and they love that scouting offers them an avenue to making positive change in the world around them. They love going on adventures just as much as they like giving back to the community. We cannot do our usual events–and have had to switch to online or word-of-mouth, which has slowed sales considerably. These are girls who have committed to scouting until the end of high school, which is very rare.

Troop #47148 in Evanston from Washington Elementary

Covid has stalled our cookie sales! We’re totally bummed about this so we’d love to sell boxes this way to help find our troop.

Troop 25551, Seniors,  Rogers Park, Lincoln Park and Old Irving

Our troop has been meeting for 5 years and is composed of girls from different neighborhoods and different schools. We are service-oriented troop and prior to Covid volunteered at a soup kitchen and at the Ronald McDonald House. Our cookie goals this year are more modest and we are not as focused on a number due to Covid. Last year, some of our booth sales were canceled, so it made it tough to sell, but we eventually were able to sell them all. This year, we are not doing any booth sales as we are very Covid conscious. We continue to meet online only but have taken this opportunity to problem-solve and be creative in our meetings and our sales.

Junior Troop 45133 from Buffalo Grove

Our fifth grade troop has been working hard on our Bronze project, the highest award for Girl Scout Juniors. We identified a need in the community, that senior citizens are even more lonely due to Covid. To address this we painted the outside of the windows at a senior center several times with cheerful scenes while interacting with residents. We also recorded a Christmas radio play and virtual talent show as well as delivered handmade Valentines.

https://DigitalCookie.GirlScouts.org/scout/eleanor640181

We can deliver cookies to the Northern Suburbs (Buffalo Grove, Vernon Hills, Deerfield, etc.). We would also love to support our military through Gift of Caring cookie donations.

Brownie Troop 25894

We are a troop focused on empowering girls by providing them opportunities to experience and learn subjects they may not have a chance to normally. Our troop focused last year on selling cookies to fundraise to make a donation to PAWS and to go on a horseback riding outing. Some of our members have never seen a horse in person before! Due to COVID we were unable to do that but hope to reach our goals this spring. It has been difficult this season to keep the girls engaged virtually and our troops cookie sales are down 70%.

Brownie Troop#25911, Chicago

Our Brownie troop have been working so hard trying to sell cookies online. We don’t have an actual goal since covid has been super challenging for all our families. Our biggest challenge during covid is not being able to go door to door selling as many cookies as we can.

Email: mari08_2006@yahoo.com for Booth site information.

Troop 25501

We use our cookie money to a) pay for troop activities b) end of the year party c) donate to a nonprofit. This year, we chose to donate to Investeggators, which make 3D printed turtle eggs that have tracking devices to find poachers. https://investeggator.com/

Brownie Troop 25760

This year our Troop has been working on resiliency and creativity to create new Brownie experiences. Our troop has found ourselves embracing the theme “Even if we can’t hold hands, we are all in this together.”

As part of our commitment to service and efforts to lift the community during this difficult time, we have donated a portion of last year’s cookies sales to Enchanted Backpack (school supplies for underserved local schools) and Game On! 4 Girls scholarships. We have also funded meals from a local restaurant for LPCS (shelter for the homeless) and donated cases of GS cookies with homemade Thank You cards to frontline workers in hospitals, firefighter and police stations and senior care residence facilities. https://digitalcookie.girlscouts.org/scout/troop25760-430

 Daisy Troop 56066

Our troops goal is to sell cookies so that we can do more service projects in our area and eventually get to go to an all troop camp out. All of our first camp experiences were canceled last year due to covid.

Our biggest challenge is that we canceled out cookie booths for safety reasons.

Troop 20208 – 9th grade seniors, South Loop

Our troop has been together since first grade, and we’ve always thought big! We’re activists, we love camping, and we love to explore new places. We have always wanted to make the world a better place – school, camp, and everything around us. We are planning an international trip for the end of high school as a last hurrah before we go our separate ways to college, and we hope to incorporate a service aspect to our trip.

This is the second year that COVID has impacted our cookie season – last year we had to cancel our booths after we had already bought the cookies. COVID has changed how we meet, and what we are able to do. Just like everyone else, we’ve adapted to Zoom meetings and found ways to stay connected and to gather outdoors when we can.

Cadette Troop 20342,  Drummond Montessori School, Chicago

Our troop of 13 girls has been around for seven years since we were in Kindergarten! We always use a portion of our funds to help our community in someway. This year we will donate a portion of our cookie money to the Greater Chicago Food Depository or No Kid Hungry to help feed kids around the country. The biggest challenge selling cookies this year has been not being able to sell door to door and at booths. We always look forward to decorating and setting up our booths, practicing our math skills as we collect payment and make change, and most of all interacting with customers!

Senior/Ambassador Troop# 43004 Villa Park, IL

We are an inclusive 🌈 High School troop based in Villa Park, IL. Our troop is planning to use cookie proceeds for a trip to San Francisco, CA. Our biggest challenge selling cookies during Covid, in order to keep our families safe, is not doing in-person booth sales.

Customers can place orders through our troop’s digital link https://digitalcookie.girlscouts.org/scout/troop43004-430 and designate your store as their delivery address for local orders. We fill local orders weekly, through March 18th, for weekend delivery. Customers can choose direct ship and Donate options as well.

Daisy Troop 56001, Darien/Woodridge/Downers Grove, IL, 1st grade

This group of 1st graders is committed to giving back to the community. Their service project this year was with the Backpack Project where they donated backpacks filled with both treats and necessities to the homeless population of Chicago. The proceeds of cookie sales this year will go to school supplies for kids in need through Cradles to Crayons Chicago. This year our troop sold cookies online only, so they were unable to do door to door and public, in person sales. It was difficult to lose that interpersonal connection along with the disruption in their typical school environment. These kiddos are resilient though…they love conservation, art, and physical activities. They looking forward to horse back riding, yoga, and hot pretzel making over the next few months.

You can purchase from this link and proceeds will go to the whole troop.

Cadette Troop 4527

Our troop loves to help our community through service projects and volunteering and selling cookies helps us do this. We enjoy learning new skills, the outdoors, helping others, becoming girl leaders. It’s been hard not being able to sell cookies in person and at Booth sites like usual together.

Troop 43073

We have been a troop for seven years. We are saving up our cookie money to use for our Silver Award projects–and also for a trip to Disney World! The biggest challenge selling cookies during COVID has been that we are not doing any cookie booths; that is usually our favorite part about cookie season. https://DigitalCookie.GirlScouts.org/scout/troop43073-430

Troop 20461

Our 6th grade troop is located in the South Loop of Chicago. Most of us have been in the troop since Kindergarten! We are missing camping together and meeting in person to do service projects and earn fun badges. Most recently we earned our Bronze Award by making blankets and toys for local animal shelters. In the past we were able to sell anywhere from 150-175 boxes per girl, but this year we aren’t even close to that without the ability to do cookie booths and sell in person. Our digital sales are helping us to fill that gap! We will use our cookie sale proceeds to contribute to people with food insecurities and to do some fun activities like zip lining and rock climbing when it is safe to be together again.
